 SEVENTH CONVOCATION CEREMONY

PROGRAMME OF ACTIVITIES AND INFORMATION FOR GRADUANDS

This is to inform the general public and 2015/2016 Graduands of the University, in particular, that the events of the seventh Convocation Ceremonies of the University, for the award of honorary degrees, first degrees, postgraduate degrees and presentation of prizes will take place from Monday, 16th to Friday, 20th January, 2017.

INFORMATION FOR GRADUANDS

1.            All graduands are advised to check their names on the list of graduands displayed here.

2.        All graduands are expected to report to campus on Tuesday, 17th January, 2017 and participate fully in the week long programme of activities.

3.        Each graduand shall be allowed a maximum of two (2) guests in the Auditorium for the graduation ceremony. There is no limit to the number of persons who can accompany graduands to the Campus. Invitation cards can be collected at the Academic Office.

4.        Babies and children below the age of ten years are not allowed in the Auditorium.

5.        Graduands not attending the Convocation are expected to give the Registrar prior notice.

6.        It is mandatory for all graduands to pay the sum of N60,000.00 for the following items, irrespective of whether or not, they attend the Convocation.

(a)       Purchase of Academic Outfit (optional)

(b)       Hire of Academic Outfit

            (For Graduands not purchasing one)

            (N5,000.00 is refundable on return)

(c)        Alumni Registration / Class Year Book

(d)       Order of Proceedings

(e)       Certificate and Scrolls        

(f)         Canopy for entertainment of Guests

(All entertainment of guests by graduands must be done within the space allocated)

(g)       Accommodation

7.         Order of Proceedings and Scrolls will be available on Thursday, 19th January, 2017 in the Auditorium as from 10.00 a.m. on presentation of receipt for fees indicated in paragraph 6 above.

8.         All graduands are expected to attend a rehearsal of the Academic procession scheduled to take place on Wednesday 18th January, 2017 in the Auditorium from 10.00 a.m. Graduands who fail to attend the rehearsal may not be allowed to participate in the graduands’ procession.

9.         All graduands are expected to dress formally, decently and corporately (i.e. suit for men, skirt suit or gown for women).

10.         Academic gowns must be returned on Monday, 23rd January, 2017. Failure to comply with this directive will attract a daily charge of N5,000.00.
