Pastor (Dr.) Oluwawemimo Odunaiya, FCA, Chancellor of Joseph Ayo Babalola University, holds a B.Comm. Honours from the University of Liverpool, England after which he qualified as member of the Institute of Chartered of Accountants in England and Wales in 1971. He worked briefly with Coopers and Lybrand in Liverpool before returning to Nigeria to assume headship of his family business Oba-Nle-Aro Group of Companies involved in importation and sales of building materials.
Odunaiya, a co-founder of Access Bank Plc was a non-executive director for fourteen years and was Vice Chairman of the Bank from 1997 to 2003 when he voluntarily retired.
He was Chairman of Governing Council of his Alma Mater, Mayflower Grammar School, Ikenne, Ogun State between 1984 and 1989. He was ordained Pastor in Christ Apostolic Church in 1995 and was appointed on the Board of Trustees of JABU in 2005.
He is presently the Chairman of Daltrade Nigeria Ltd, a Nigerian-Polish manufacturing company; and Industrial and Farms Equipment Company Ltd (IFECO). Both companies, have empowered about one thousand employees.
“He, however, developed the simply importing company into a manufacturing company.
“He relinquished the headship of the firm to his siblings to establish Wemy Industries Ltd in 1978, the first indigenous company to manufacture baby diapers after which it began manufacturing sanitary towels under the brand name of Dr. Browns.
