JABU’S POSITION ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP

JABU’s position on entrepreneurship was reiterated by The Director of Entrepreneurship at Joseph Ayo Babalola University. No doubt, entrepreneurs are taking the world by storm from one end of the world to another with millions of success stories in the trail. Indeed, the concept of entrepreneurship is very stimulating with tremendous potential to transform the problems within society into a wide range of opportunities, especially in recent times. While there is a governance angle to solving the problems such as ensuring an enabling environment, there is also a smart angle that is permissive through the entrepreneurial endeavors of individuals.

However, bearing in mind the philosophy of creativeness, innovativeness, and value addition that entrepreneurship imbibes, just any problem can be turned around into an opportunity. Nevertheless, the responsibility of this task lies on the orientation, thinking capability, and passion of the individuals i.e. entrepreneurs. The entrepreneurial mindset is a set of skills that enable people to identify and make the most of opportunities, overcome and learn from setbacks, as well as succeed in a variety of settings, and plays an essential role in actualizing goals.

It is also important to note that embarking on entrepreneurial goals requires ‘bravery’, likewise, to remain on that path requires ‘courage’, and interestingly, the bridge that merges the two is ‘commitment’.

In light of this, the entire JABU community is hereby enjoined to see beyond whatever limiting factors by developing their entrepreneurial mindset, as there is light at the end of the tunnel if the potential within prevailing problems is entrepreneurially exploited for solutions.
