History
To be one of the best among Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management Department in African Universities and globally; prepare business leaders for both Private and Public Sectors of the Nigerian economy. Produce self-reliant graduates who will be employers of labour. And develop an economy with a strong research base for intellectual and national development.
Philosophy
The department’s philosophy is to seek excellence and professionalism in every phase of its activities. In addition, the department’s aspirations include achieving a state of close interaction between the department and the potential employers of its products and placing the department in a position to receive and enjoy the goodwill and support of professional business associations and the business community in general.
Objectives
The objectives of the Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations programme are to:
- Offer excellent academic programmes in IRHRM.
- Conduct research into IRHRM-related problems.
- Provide a favourable environment and requisite knowledge to enhance industrial peace and ensure national development.
- Provide research and consultancy services for both organizations in the private and public sectors.
