COVID-19: JABU UPDATES
Outstanding First Semester Results
In line with the decision of the senate at its last meeting held on 26th March, 2020 that a special meeting will be held on Thursday, 16th April, 2020 to consider all outstanding first semester results, deans and heads of departments are hereby informed to ensure that all outstanding results are processed to senate for consideration without fail.
Senate at its last meeting held on 26th March, 2020 observed that a number of lecturers have not submitted their course materials as directed by the management. It further observed that these course materials would have been very helpful to the students at this period of compulsory holiday declared by the federal government as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Consequent upon the above, deans and heads of department are hereby requested to ensure that all lecturers submit their course materials to their respective heads of departments not later than two weeks from the date of this circular. The heads of departments after certifying the originality of the contents of the materials are required to forward same to their respective deans for final scrutiny and recommendation to the management for production. The university senate has reiterated the need for staff cooperation at ensuring that students’ academic work do not suffer and has therefore decided that there would be zero tolerance for non-compliance by any lecturer to this directive.
Academic Staff-Student Link Up
Due to the closure of universities throughout the country as regards COVID-19 pandemic, all academic staff are requested to link up with their students for academic interaction through WhatsApp, Google class or any other channels convenient for them. Lectures covered during the holiday will reduce workload and save time when the school resumes.
