THE REGISTRAR'S PROFILE
Pastor (Barr.) Olabisi Adewale Aderibigbe is The Registrar of Joseph Ayo Babalola University. Pastor Aderibigbe was born in 1941 at Oyan in Osun State of Nigeria. He had his secondary education at Oyan Grammar School between 1951 and 1956. He was admitted to University of Nigeria, Nsukka in October, 1963 but because of the outbreak of the civil war in 1966 he ended up at the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in June 1967. He later attended University of Ibadan in 1972 where he obtained his postgraduate diploma in Education with specialisation in the teaching of English as a second language. He proceeded to the University of Lagos where he bagged a Bachelor of Law degree in 1989. He was subsequently called to bar in 1991. He obtained a Masters of Education with a specialisation in Management of Higher Education at Victoria University of Manchester in the United Kingdom in 1990 where he graduated with a distinction.
Barrister Wale Aderibigbe started his working career in 1967 with the Western Region Teaching Service Commission where he rose to the position of Vice Principal. He later worked as a Federal Inspector of Education from 1975 to 1980 when he left the Federal Service as Principal Inspector of Education. The work as a Federal Inspector of Education took him to several states within the country. During his service with the Federal Inspectorate of Education he represented the ministry on the Board of the Institute of Education of Ahmadu Bello University. He joined the University of Lagos as a Principal Assistant Registrar in 1980. In 1985, he was awarded an Administrative Travelling Fellowship by the Association of Commonwealth Universities supported by the University of Lagos to undertake a study tour of Universities in the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States of America. The visit provided an inestimable exposure to various management practices. He was Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor from 1982 to 1988. He became the Acting Registrar in 1996 and Registrar of the University of Lagos in 1997. He held the position until 2001 when he gracefully retired. He is an ordained pastor in Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide.
In 2001, during the planning stage of Joseph Ayo Babalola University, the former President of the Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide, Pastor (Dr.) E.H.L. Olusheye invited him to be a member and secretary to the Planning and Implementation Committee of the then proposed Joseph Ayo Babalola University. He worked assiduously with other members of the committee between 2001 and 2006. When the Joseph Ayo Babalola University eventually received its licence to commence operation in 2006 by the Federal Government, Pastor Wale Aderibigbe was appointed the pioneer Registrar for the university.
Pastor Olabisi Adewale Aderibigbe got married in 1971 to Mrs. Adeola Aderibigbe and the marriage is blessed with five children.
