Excellence is doing your best is a lecture delivered by The Acting Deputy Director of the Guidance and Counseling Unit at Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Dr. Comfort Olaniyi who revealed that the bedrock to achieving excellent performance in academic is goal setting, time management, hard work, constant class attendance, comprehensive reading, courage, and perseverance among others.

Speaking at the Annual Academic Summit with the theme “Procedure for Achieving Academic Excellence” at the General Adebayo Lecture Theatre, Olaniyi noted that lack of self-discipline, internet/social media bewitchment, procrastination, and lack of persistence must be dealt with to achieve academic excellence. She pointed out that excellence is not being the best but doing your best.

The summit ended with a question and answers session and was graced by the Dean of Law College, Professor Ola-Jones Jejelola, the Head of the Department for Nursing, other lecturers, and non-academic staff, and students of the colleges of Law and Health Sciences.
