College of Management Sciences
History
The College of Management Sciences commenced in 2006 as the College of Social and Management Sciences and other foundation colleges at Joseph Ayo Babalola University. It runs with the university’s motto for knowledge and godly service. The college commenced with eight departments namely. They are:
- Department of Accounting.
- Department of Actuarial Science and Insurance.
- Department of Business Administration.
- Department of Population Studies (now Department of Demography & Social Statistics).
- Department of Economics.
- Department of Entrepreneurship.
- Department of Mass Communication.
- Department of Political Science.
About
The College of Management Sciences houses the Entrepreneurship Department, which has distinguished the university as the first entrepreneurial university in Nigeria.
In one of the seminar series presented in 2015 by the Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship, Professor A.J. Adegeye, many distinguished persons and scholars were present.
The lecture was to confirm JABU‘s philosophy of making students entrepreneurs and b equipping them with productive skills at the Entrepreneurship Centre for Skill and Innovation supervised by the Department of Entrepreneurship.
Vision
The college has a vision of producing graduates that will rank among the best in all fields of management sciences occupy strategic positions and move society to the desired level that will be free of corruption and other social vices.

The Department of Business Administration strives to groom socially conscious business leaders, managers, and entrepreneurs

The Department of Entrepreneurship offers training on self-reliance to students capable of setting up their businesses and scaling them to generate profit
Department of Industrial Relations & Human Resource Management (HRM)
Department of Industrial Relations & HRM offers a coherent approach to the effective management of people and work for dispute resolution
